Non-Jr. Kid Shows
The kids have graduated from Nick Jr. to regular Nick. And with that comes a loooooooooot of Sponge Bob.
Also, this Sanjay and Craig show, which I don't let them watch. I don't know why. It just looks kind of obnoxious. Of course, by not letting them watch it, it has now become like the most coveted show of all time. Oh, the angst that is caused when I make them change the channel! The pain! The misery!
I told them tonight at dinner that when I was little, I only got to watch cartoons ONE MORNING out of the ENTIRE week. They looked at me like that was the craziest thing they ever heard in their little lives. Scott added in that we only had FOUR channels to choose from. And then I topped it off with "Yeah, and we didn't even have remotes! We had to go up and turn a knob on the TV to change the channel!"
Then I felt really old. Doesn't help that my bunions are acting up today.
So yes, "Sanjay and Craig" is on the banned list. Along with "Dog With a Blog", which I think might be the worst show I've ever seen in my entire life. Like I literally wish the dog would get run over by a car so I never, ever have to sit through it ever again.
But there are some shows I kinda sorta like. Like "Good Luck, Charlie", for one. I love the mom on that show - she's so sassy. Side Note: I had my mind blown the other day, when I realized that the girl who sings "The Way" is actually Cat from Victorious/Sam & Cat. I find it very depressing that I know that. What's even more depressing is that I then googled the other Victorious cast members, and found out that Jade sings the theme song to the Winx Club. What's even more depressing than that, is that I love the theme song to the Winx Club. I think I need an intervention.
Maybe one day I will reclaim my TV from the kids. Although.....
GENIUS IDEA ALERT!
Instead of using the parental controls on the TV to ban all the grown-up stuff, maybe I should use it to ban all the KID stuff! Then they won't come near my TV!!!!! Mwah hah hah ha hah!
Why have I never thought of this before????
