Little Things That Make Me Stupid Excited: June 2011 Edition

It's the 1st of the month!  And you know what that means.  It's time to get STUPID excited!!!!

For those of you new to my blog, "Little Things That Make Me Stupid Excited" is a feature I post on the first day of each month. It's like Oprah's Favorite things - if Oprah was really cheap. And loved to shop at Kohl's.  And now that Oprah's off the air...well, let's just say I'm glad LTTMMSE can fill the hole in our heart that's been left behind.  ;-)

Grab the button below and link on up in the comments if you want to make your own list! I'd love to read what makes you STUPID excited too!! And if you'd like to see my past lists, they're all linked up on my LTTMMSE page.

Little Things That Make Me Stupid Excited

I've got *TEN* stupid exciting things for the month of June!  Let's get started!!!

Ice Breakers Ice Cubes Gum - Cool Lemon Flavor

Oh, good HEAVENS.  I have found the world's perfect gum and it is Ice Breakers Ice Cubes - Cool Lemon Flavor.  I love this stuff.  It's like a little flavorful explosion of lemony crystals in your mouth.  It doesn't last very long, which is a shame, BUT it does blow nice bubbles.  And it snaps very well, too.  Although of course we never snap our gum in public, because that is annoying.  We only snap in the car.  Or in our office with the door closed.  Or walking around Target when we're pretty sure no one is looking.

Wild Mushroom Pizza from Ingredient

If I go to Heaven, Jesus and I will share a slice of this pizza.  Oh my WORD.  It is soooooooo good!  I found it at a relatively new restaurant here in town - Ingredient - which has about every kind of food including that food's cousin on the menu.  But the wild mushroom pizza has captured my heart.  It's made of wild mushrooms, carmelized onions, alfredo sauce and FREAKING brie all on a thin crust.  GET OUT!  It is stupid delicious.

So You Think You Can Dance

It's post-American Idol season!  Which is my favorite season of all, because it means there's a new season of So You Think You Can Dance to watch.  This is like my all time favorite show.  These dancers work so hard each week to learn new routines, and they KILL IT every.single.time. Well, not every time. But almost all the time, which is good enough for me. I'm not sure why I love this show so much, considering I'm not really a dancer. Probably because I am 99% klutz so this is my vicarious way of living a graceful life.  But who cares, because this show is awesome.

Baby Diet Cokes

It's no secret that I'm addicted to Diet Coke.  But you know, I don't always want a full can - especially when I get home after work.  I'm kind of a slow drinker, and well - 12 oz is a little much for me.  I've tried the whole 2-liter thing, but those go flat so quick it just seems wasteful.  Well.  Scott discovered these bad boys a few weeks ago in the grocery store.  Baby diet cokes!  Aren't they cute?  And just my size, too.

Caramelicious Smoothie from Scooter's Coffeehouse

Speaking of caffeinated beverages, I tried this coffee smoothie recently from a local coffeehouse and HOLY CRAP.  It may have been the most delicious thing I've ever tasted.  It tasted like a caramel latte milkshake.  YUM.  I drank it a little too quick and got the chilly shakes, but it was totally worth it.

 Green Threads from Old Navy

I've been in love with the color green this season, and Old Navy is chock full of green dresses and skirts and swimsuits and tees.  It just seems so fresh and springy!  I have the swimsuit above and a dress that's pretty similar, and I'm totally buying that skirt ASAP.  I tried to find it in the store but they were sold out, so I'm gonna have to venture online for it.

You know, every now and then I stumble across a blog that I just love.  And I am just loving The Daybook lately.  This gal is cute as a button, puts together great outfits, and has a relationship with her hubby that makes you want to go "Squee!"  I just love happy blogs because, well...they make me happy.  So check out The Daybook if you haven't already!

Bomb Pop Drink

Remember how I used to not be so neighborly?  Well, the neighbors across the street made me this drink a few weeks ago and now I am EXTREMELY neighborly!  It's called the "Bomb Pop" and is made of some kind of Rasberrry Rum, Blue Curacao, lemonade, and grenadine.  I did some extensive research on them online tonight and have deduced that you can also add cranberry juice to get a little splash of red if you want a truly authentic looking Bomb Pop.  Will totally be trying that this weekend.  Remind me to post pics!

Butterfinger Blizzards

Oh Dairy Queen, how I love thee.  And how I especially love your Butterfinger Blizzard.  You know, I'm not a huge fan of the Butterfinger.  It's a little too much crunch.  A little too dry.  A little too stuck in the back of your teeth-like.  BUT.  Chop up that Butterfinger and mix it with DQ vanilla ice cream?  Now that is something to get stupid excited about.

I saw this picture on MSNBC's The Week in Pictures and thought it was only like the coolest picture EVER.  That mom ROCKS.  Baby in one arm, glove in the other.  I would have been ducking under my seat (even without the baby).  I just want to give her a high 5 and yell out "You go, girl!" And then probably run away because I'm also a little scared of her.

And that's it for this month's LTTMMSE!  Hope you enjoyed it!

love the baby diet cokes even though I don't drink fizzy drinks :)

Anything small is cuter and therefore better, right? :)

Love that swimsuit, BTW

I'd give that mom a High 5, too! How awesome is she??

So last year I found little baby cans. Of champagne. And it's even decent champagne. Made by coppola wines, called Sophia. Let me tell ya, drinking from a can at a soccer game? Totally acceptable.

I love these posts...its a good thing Oprah is done for...she must've seen you coming and ran!

I am seriously drooling over the mushroom pizza and the caramel smoothie! I also have a sudden urge to run to DQ.

I'm in awe of that mom...but hey..she didn't have twins. she would have had to sacrifice one of them to catch that...

I love your post every month, but I have to tell you that it almost made me fall over yesterday...when I glimpsed up and realized it's the FIRST of JUNE!!! How did THAT happen??? :)

And I just wanted to share a little wisdom I learned in college...beware of *blue* drinks. Fortunately this didn't happen to me (if it had, it probably wouldn't have made the same impression, because I probably wouldn't remember it!)...

...but...I saw a girl drink waaaaay too many some-kinda-blue drinks one time. She was no longer very "aware" of herself, and she had blue stuff everywhere! Her entire mouth / tongue / teeth / lips / area around her lips were SMURF BLUE. It was hilarious and disgusting at once...

Now, I'm not saying your the kinda girl to drink waaaay too many of anything, but - in fairness - I don't know what the "Smurf Blue" ratio is to the number of drinks. Just be careful...and check yourself before you take those pictures.

(And LOVE Barb's comment about the twins!!!)

Damn! I forgot (again)! Maybe I can check in late this month...I have a few things.

Anyway, the pizza looks to die for. Between that and the blue drink, we could have quite a fun night!

Old Navy...I gotta get there. So many cute/cheap things!
