Little Things That Make Me Stupid Excited: August Edition

That's right, everybody!  It's time to get stupid excited again!  Ooh, have I been waiting for this.

For those of you new to my blog, "Little Things That Make Me Stupid Excited" is a new feature I started last month.  I'll repeat my disclaimer/explanation here:

Now, let me make clear that I am not hawking or reviewing products here.  Nobody's paying me or providing me with anything.  My google page rank is way too low for that.  I'm just using my blog as an outlet to exclaim over and dissect little materialistic things that make me ridiculously excited.  And maybe along the way, you'll find something that makes you stupid excited too.  It's like Oprah's Favorite things.  If Oprah was really cheap. And loved to shop at Kohl's.

Last month I really restrained myself, listing only four things.  But for this month's edition, I have ten.  That's right, TEN!  Grab the button if you want to make your own list!  I wanted to do a link up via Mr. Linky, but couldn't figure out how to do it.  (Apparently he just makes me stupid instead of stupid excited).  But please link on up in the comments if you want to join in.

Oh, these earrings.  I love these earrings.  I bought them from the most fabulous store ever invented - Target.  Ever heard of it?  Anyway, I got these babies for $5.99 and I wear them all.the.time

* Two *

Roll-over skirts from Old Navy.  I have them in grey, black, brown and purple.  They cost $15 each, people.  $15 EACH!  You know why I love these?  (Besides the fact that they're cheap).  They're super comfy and just as easy to pull on as a pair of shorts.  And I'm telling you - I look so much more put together when I wear one of these bad boys than I do when I wear shorts.  It's like I go from schlubby soccer mom to mom with sassitude the moment I put one of these on.  And yes, I just made up that word.  You have to make jazz hands while you say it.  Sassitude.

* Three *

Layering camis, also from Old Navy.  I usually layer a couple of these camis and wear them with the roll-over skirt and earrings up above.  And you know what I end up with?  That's right...an outfit with SASSITUDE!

Okay, maybe I'm using that word too much.  But you know how it is when you get stupid excited.

* Four *

Okay, let's bring it down a notch, shall we?  Something else that I just love love love is my embosser.  Scott tells me I am lame for including this.  But I think we already established that I'm lame when I started throwing around the word "sassitude."

Anyway, I just love embossing things.  It just adds a little something *extra* to your invitations, thank you notes, cards, etc.  Plus it's nice not having to write out your return address a million times.  And, there's something so satisfying about that little crush sensation you get when you use that embosser on a crisp piece of paper.  What can I say, I'm easy to please.

* Five *

Iced Mochas from McDonald's.  Icy cold chocolate heaven in a cup, I'm telling you.  I would drink ten of these in a day if I could, but I can only handle one.  Like I always say - if you start to get the jitters halfway through your coffee, that's how you know it's doing its job right.  And I give this cup of joe an "Exceeds Expectations" on its annual performance review.

* Six *

"The Cylons were created by man. They rebelled. They evolved. They look and feel human. Some are programmed to think they are human. There are many copies. And they have a plan."

I'm telling you, the Sy-Fy channel's reimaging of this show was awesome.  Awe-some.  Although it is technically categorized as sci-fi, it is not just for sci-fi lovers.  Its episodes covered everything from religion to politics to war to sex to relationships to pretty much everything.  Oh, how I miss it.  Definitely check it out on DVD if you didn't watch it when it was on the air.

* Seven *

Now what kind of favorite thing list would this be if I didn't have lip gloss on it?  Well, it would be a lot like my last list.  But anyway, I love this lip gloss.  It's from the Sonia Kashuk brand at Target and the color is "Precious."  It's seriously the best summer gloss - just enough color that it gives your lips that little extra oomph, but still looks natural.  Well, as natural as super shiny lips can look, but you know what I mean.

* Eight *

Buying Vera Bradley bags is a fever, and the only prescription is...well, buying more Vera Bradley bags.  I actually don't have anything in the pattern above (Call Me Coral), but oh, how I covet it.  I may just have to splurge on a[nother] new bag this fall.  It's a sickness, I tell you.

* Nine *

I just got these new jammie shorts from Target for $5.00 a pop!  Love these.  They're super comfy and perfect for summer.  Pair with a white tank and you will feel super cute while you slumber.  Gives a whole new meaning to the term beauty sleep.  And yes, of course that is my stomach up there, thank you for noticing.

* Ten *

This isn't the exact picnic blanket I own, but it's pretty darn close.  I got this at my third favorite store in the world - Kohl's - thus completing the trifecta already inhabited by Target and Old Navy.  Maybe I'll branch out for the September edition of LTTMMSE, but it's not likely.

Anyway, picnic blanket.  I love this thing because it's big, it has a waterproof underside, and it zips up into itself to form its own little carrying case.  We use this thing for T-ball games, soccer games, trips to the park, and even when we're just laying around in the backyard.  SO much easier than carrying fold-out chairs everywhere, particularly when you're worrying about where three little hands are while you walk from the parking lot to the soccer field.

Whew.  That was a lot of fun, but now I am exhausted.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to list "The Nap" as one of my favorite things for September.  Hope you all enjoyed the August edition!

Target and Old Navy are very dangerous for me to go into. I can't remember if I saw those skirts when I was in Old Navy, but I'm going to go check it out again.

And I need that blanket. I really do.

Totally agree with you about the skirt...I'm going to wear mine today! I am jealous of your embosser. I want one so bad, but I keep telling myself that it's too expensive to get since we're not living in our Forever House yet!

You are SO right about Target!! And I ADORE those roll over skirts! Unfortunately, the last couple times I've check them out, they only had XL sizes left!

I LOVE Target earrings. Half of my Collection is from there, the others come from Ebay and Ashley Stewart (the in-store/not online accessories are GORGEOUS!!) My husband loves the new McCafe smoothies.

Loved the August edition!! It was *stupid* good!

I have a confession...I've taken my Old Navy roll-over skirt and pulled it up like a tube top (tucked in my bra for stability) and worn it as a shorter summer skirt. I just wear flowy top and my jean jacket (oh and your earrings - if I had them)....you really get two outfits for one very versatile item!!

OK, I'm getting a little stupid excited over a few of these things
1. the embosser. HAVE. TO. GET.
2. the lip gloss. Running to Target as we speak
3. the picnic blanket. I've been looking for one, so now I'm running to Kohl's too!
Such a great list!

I love the sassitude and yay for the trifecta. Although I can't be friends with old navy because they are not fat girl friendly.

I love Old Navy, but they don't carry petites in their store. *sniff* This means I have to order stuff online, and end up returning half of it. pfft

(BTW, our local Old Navy, Kohls and Target are ON THE SAME SIDE of our local shopping center. *sigh*)

We shop at some of the same stores! I'm a new follower to your blog and actually stumbled across your above topic (date night) via Twitter. I decided to do the 10 thing challenge and if you get back with me (email) I can easily walk you through a McLinky.
