BlogHer for a LawYer

I keep reading all these fun posts about BlogHer. About how everybody's going, everybody's nervous, everybody's buying cute new shoes, everybody's going to meet all their favorite bloggy friends, everybody's going to get cool stuff and drink martinis and explore New York City.

Sounds fun, I guess.

But step back, everybody, because I get to go to a different conference later this year. And it's awesome!! It's a lawyer conference on fraud and abuse topics! With exciting sessions on the Stark Law, determining fair market value in health care transactions, hot topics in false claims litigation, and anti-kickback, Stark and related issues under the new health care reform package!!!!

Are you jealous?!?!?!?!?!?

WOOHOO! The fun life of a lawyer. Although today I would give my right arm (or a small child) to get out of my house and sit in one of the BORING real estate sessions I used to have to attend!

SO jealous! :) I know, I'm sick of reading posts and tweets about it!

I'm sorry. Not really because although a lawyer conference, you still get to maybe have a drink or three. Eat out and at least take the hotel shampoo and soap home?

I'm jealous about BlogHer too. boohoo.

I get to go to a conference later today with my daughter. We'll address such exciting topics as poopy diapers, swollen gums, and angry new teeth.

I'm jealous too...

LOL! I went to a Human Resources conference earlier this year and I'll be attending another one this fall. GO ME!

I'm not sure I could keep my eyes open during those sessions....or I'd be "taking notes" on my laptop, but really I'd be surfing the web, or perfecting my bubble spinner score. :)

We will have to form a different kind of conference - perhaps one that involves Wii bowling and we only invite people that we can beat. :)

Sounds about as fun as I have going to CPA courses to stay abreast of the latest developments. They love going on about fraud and abuse as well! LOL. I'm not so much in the blog conference stuff. I don't take it that seriously! For me it is just a fun way to keep a record of all the day to day things we are up to.

I also have a conference this weekend, one regarding ultrasound and regional anesthesia techniques. Yeah. Jealous now?

Ha! I'll be going to a fun conference on software testing. In town. I'm still responsible for daycare dropoff and pickup. ;)

You're a hoot.
I'm going to an accountant's conference in December. In NYC! YAY! Learning all about XBRL and IFRS and SARBOX and 2+2 doesn't always = 4. YAY!!!
:p

lol - heck I'd be happy to go ANYwhere that I could see real live adults! haha. There's no way I can make it to any blog conferences soon with 7 little ones.

I'm your newest follower from Friendly Friday! Would love it if you'd follow back at Mom of all Trades. Have a great weekend!

Hey, if it would get me out of an entire 10-hour day of wiping dirty butts and snotty noses, breaking up fights constantly and making lunch for 4 whiny, never-satisfied kids, I'd go in your place in a heartbeat!!

I just found your blog from Follow Me Chicadee Friday, and I'm hooked. I'm absolutely following. I hear you loud and clear on the conference thing...I should be going because it's in NYC (only 2.5 hours away from me). Well, at least you have that exciting other conference to go to (ZZZZZZ) I mean "yay!" I can't wait to read more. Have a great day!

ooh! Can I go to the lawyer one? :) I have absolutely no qualifications except that I'm an expensive healthcare patient. Relatively. I mean, I'm sure someone with high blood pressure is about as expensive as me...

Hey, I'm not going to either - I'd be happy with a conference of any kind!

Except one that involved laundry.

That conference would suck.

Hi there! Just found you through a blog hop and I'm now following.
Ironically, I'll be in NYC, just a week too late. But it will still be four days away with hubby and no kids, so I'm not complaining!

I feel ya.

I just got back from a week caring for my sis and her newest boy (of three) and spent my time cooking, cleaning, entertaining, teaching, potty-training and getting everyone ready for bed. Twice a day. This included my 9 month-old daughter, whom I- crazily- thought it would be easier to include in this venture.

Aaand, everyone keeps asking me how my "vacation" was. Sob indeed.
