Dreaming Big

Photobucket

Half way through Mother's Day, Ashley told me that she wished it was "Kid Day" instead of Mother's Day.

If it was Kid Day, she would go to the park, and have me push her on the swings, and make her cinnamon toast for breakfast.

Hmm.

Ashley's dream day sounds a lot like a typical Saturday around here.  Makes me think I must be doing something right.

(I would have wished for a pony, but to each their own.)

Your little girl is so cute. It's so wonderful the simplicity of their desires now. Enjoy that now since in 12 years, she's gonna wish that on Kids Day you'll buy her a car.

I thought Kids Day was EVERY DAY. Did I miss something? Snort!

awe how sweet she wants a kids day. I feel that everyday is a kids day so she gets her wish everyday and that is just to precious.

Hayden asked if it could be kids day on Mother's day too but only b/c he wanted a present.

What a cutie. It sounds very similar to the things I wished for for Mother's Day.

That's cute! And it's probably a better thing for you that she didn't go the pony route. :)

Hysterical! Our two asked why there wasn't any "Brother & Sister Day" a la an old episode of Charlie and Lola. Double Daddy quickly clarified that really EVERY day they get to do a LOT of what they want to do...and maybe Mothers and Fathers (the recipients of the "special" days) spend the bulk of their time caring for them...not unwillingly, but still... ;) They got it! Love the sweetness of your girl's innocent wishes. (And glad they were pony-free!)

You ARE doing a lot right! How sweet.

Yesterday, Melody stopped me and said, "I haffa tell you something. Happy Mothers' Day." Then she gave me a hug.

That's hilarious. I was thinking the same thing...um, how is that different from any other day?

I remembering my Dad saying this to me when I was a kid "Kids day is every day"
Now that I'm a Mom... I see how right he was!
Great post.

Cinnamon toast and a trip to the park? Don't be surprised if I show up on your doorstep one Saturday morning haha

I used to say to my mom "There should be a children's day!" To which she would always respond "Trust me... every day is children's day."

In Mexico, we celebrate Kids Day on April 30 :) There are tons of events, festivals, etc. Pretty awesome.

Definitely doing something right! I love that her wishes are so simple (and I'm pretty sure I'm going to make myself some cinnamon toast right now!).
